The short version

Minimalist apps do not collect your app data. We do not run app accounts, cloud storage, analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising trackers, or behavioural profiling. Sold apps keep your app data locally on your Mac and document their export path before launch.

App data

Minimalist apps store your app data locally on your Mac. We do not have access to that local database and we do not receive the things you track, write, save, categorise, rate, or organise inside the apps.

Analytics

Our apps contain no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. We do not fingerprint your device.

License activation, updates, and themes

Some app features may contact Minimalist or Lemon Squeezy for practical product reasons: license activation, optional update checks, and theme catalog or entitlement refreshes. These checks may process limited technical and purchase information such as your license key, app name, app version, product or variant identifier, activation instance, and the date of the request. They do not include your local app data.

Website

This website is a static site hosted on Vercel. It does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party trackers. It uses browser local storage only for functional preferences such as the theme toggle. That information stays in your browser and is not sent to us as analytics.

Purchases and support

If you purchase a Minimalist product through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy processes the checkout, payment, tax, invoice, and fraud-prevention details. We receive the information needed to deliver and support the product, such as your email address, order details, product or variant purchased, license key, activation status, refund status, and support correspondence.

What we use personal data for

We use purchase, license, and support information to deliver the software, activate licenses, provide updates and support, handle refunds, prevent license abuse, maintain business records, and contact customers about products they bought.

Lawful basis

We process purchase, license, and support information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and for legitimate interests such as product support, fraud prevention, security, and keeping accurate business records.

Third parties

We use Lemon Squeezy to process payments and help deliver license keys. We use Vercel to host the website and Google Workspace for business email. We do not sell your information.

International transfers

Some providers we use may process personal data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on their published transfer safeguards, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent lawful transfer mechanisms.

How long we keep information

We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to provide the product, support your license, and maintain legal or accounting records. Support emails are kept only as long as useful for support and business records.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal data we hold about you, and you can object to some processing. To make a request, email hello@getminimalist.co.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Children

Minimalist is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
